After performing to sold-out audiences across the world, “Mystic India: The World Tour” comes to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, N.J., for a single performance March 8. An internationally acclaimed Bollywood dance spectacular based on the concept of ancient India’s transition into modern India, “Mystic India” features renowned musicians, dancers, breathtaking aerialists and acrobats, and 750 opulent costumes. The show is hosted as part of NJPAC’s World Music Series. According to Amit Shah, founder of Aatma Performing Arts, who created and conceptualized “Mystic India,” the troupe has performed in four continents for over 200,000 people. Shah said he created the show to spread his love for Indian culture around the world and represent India in the most accurate way. “My goal was to change the way Bollywood dance was represented on the international platform, as it’s being commercialized and losing authenticity,” Shah was quoted as saying in a press release issued by the group. “I am proud of our diverse cast for being such genuine ambassadors of Indian culture,” he added. Shah promises an explosion of color and culture as “Mystic India” embarks on a journey through various regions of India and culminate with a celebration of the Bollywood film industry.
