Salman Khan’s fans should be ecstatic. And if you are particularly fond of his on-screen pairing with Katrina Kaif, you now have a double reason to celebrate. One of Bollywood’s most famous, and most loved, duo, riding high after the success of “Tiger Zinda Hai,” will be rocking the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., June 30 along with a bevy of Indian film stars. After performing in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and the U.K., Khan is getting ready to bring his “Da-Bangg The Tour: Reloaded” to the U.S. The starry lineup includes actresses Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, dance master Prabu Deva and actor Manish Paul. The concert is being presented by Golden Touch Production LLC, the main partners of which are Deep Vohra of V.I.P Travels Inc., Bhavini Joshi of Instant Karma, Prasad and Vijaya Aasuri of V7 group, Sanjay Prabhakar of Shalimar Sunnyvale, and Sanjeev Masih of Sacramento group. The presenters hosted a launch ceremony by seeking divine blessings. To start this event with good energy, a pooja ceremony was conducted at the Sri Satya Narayana Swamy Devasthanam temple here Feb. 1. The show is certainly among the most anticipated ones since the last time Khan performed in front of a live crowd in the San Francisco Bay Area was at least a decade ago. He did mesmerize fans on the East Coast, though, at the 2017 IIFA Awards. Kaif was part of “Dream Team,” the densely populated star show held at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., in 2016, but there is no doubt that the crowds, in anticipation of Khan-Kaif recreating their on-screen chemistry, will congregate to see the two of them together on stage. At least that’s what the organizers are hoping for. “We know Salman Khan can fill up Levi’s Stadium,” Joshi told India-West. “But we wanted to make sure the weather is perfect and that’s why we kept it indoors.” “Looking at the lineup, we can say that the show is going to be great,” Archana Vohra told India-West. “We had the pleasure of seeing it in London, and it was an amazing show. The production itself is something that you’ve never ever seen in any of the shows. And after ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ people want to see Katrina and Salman together.” “This is one of the biggest shows in the Bay Area. We are hoping everyone who comes has a great time,” Vastu Acharya Gautam Rana, one of the sponsors, told India-West. “For a great event you need three things: Great team to create something like this; a great team who’ll be performing like Salman Khan and all the stars; and then you need a great audience. We are working on creating the first two, and the third is on the audiences.” The organizers are expecting nothing less than a full house. “We are expecting an amazingly sold-out concert,” Joshi told India-West. “The ‘Sultan’ of Bollywood is coming to the Bay Area. He is the blockbuster king of Bollywood with the maximum number of films in the Rs. 100 crore club.” Joshi went on to add that the response to the teaser has been phenomenal. “People are dying to buy the tickets,” she said. The booking for the tickets will opening next week, and they will be available on Ticketmaster and Sulekha.com/Salman. Considering the positive buzz around this concert, the organizers will also be launching an app, specific to the region. “Not only will it give a huge exposure to the sponsors,” Joshi told India-West, “We’ll also give special deals to people who download the app. There are going to be a lot of contests that will be taking place.” “It’s very exciting to be part of this group,” Prasad Mangia, one of the sponsors, who has in the past organized concerts headlined by Arijit Singh, Ilayaraja, and S.P. Balasubramaniam, told India-West. “I would ask our friends, and supporters to come out for this concert since it will be a wonderful concert and they’ll have a good time.” The tour is expected to cover several cities in the U.S., and in Canada.
