    • Rahul Ram
    • Rahul Ram is an Indian bass guitarist, social activist and music composer. He plays bass guitar in the band Indian Ocean which he joined in 1991. He had been playing bass guitar since junior school in the seventies.
    • Amit Kilam
    • Amit joined Indian Ocean in 1994, although being the youngest in the team, he is the most reconizable and successful band member ever since. Amits drumming is a happy balance between the conventional and non-conventional. He believes in layering rhythm rather than heavy drums, and prefers simplicity over technical wizardry. He incorporates Indian rhythms into his drumming in a unique fashion, moving in cycles of 8, 10, 12 14, 16, rather than simple 4/4 or styles. He goes easy on the skins, yet his playing is very dynamic. Amit was introduced to music at the age of 4 by his parents, learning the guitar (hawaiian - Indian classical). He is an instinctive musician, picking up all kinds of instruments with ease, and he sings well too!
    • Nikhil Rao
    • Our newest member is obsessed by the guitar. His influences range from his early metalhead days through blues and jazz and across to Hindustani and Carnatic classical music. His guitar playing has a totally different and fresh sound, and hes completely aware of which note he is playing at any given moment. Nikhil has already started contributing to our compositions.
    • Tuheen Chakravorty
    • Tuheens fantastic sense of percussion manifested itself when he was just a toddler. Tabla, the instrument he was trained in, remains his first love, but hes very much at home on the cajn, dholak, kanjira you name it! Unlike the rest of us, Tuheen has performed with an enormous range of musicians over the last twenty odd years, and experienced a bewildering variety of situations. Tuheens powerful voice can increasingly be heard in our chorus parts.
