Indo-rock fusion band Indian Ocean, who recently completed 25 years in the music industry, are ready with their next ambitious project, which happens to be their seventh studio album titled Tandanu. The album comprises seven compositions, carrying the trademark tunes composed by the band, which is a fusion of different melodies. What’s interesting is that each track includes a musician admired and respected by the band as a collaborator and they include the likes of Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Vishal Dadlani, Shankar Mahadevan, Shubha Mudgal, Selva Ganesh, Kumaresh Rajagopalan and Karsh Kale. Each artist represents diverse genres of music, spanning from classical to contemporary forms. “The experience was simply brilliant. In between all the concerts that we are usually busy with, we are happy that this project finally happened. The entire recording was done at YRF Studios after which, we tied up with MTV Indies to shoot seven short films with every artist,” stated Rahul Ram, member of Indian Ocean. The lead guitarist added that these short films are not music videos but will include behind the scenes, making of the song among others. He also added that this will be the first album after the untimely demise of Asheem Chakravarty and the departure of Susmit Sen. Each song from Tandanu will be released on MTV Indies every Saturday. Post which the songs will be released on digital platforms like iTunes, gaana.com, Spotify, Nokia Ovi among others. The music album will be released in the first week of June.
