Oscar winning Indian musical legend AR Rahman is celebrateing his 25 glorious years in music with a stellar multicity tour AR Rahman will be accompanied by some talented musicians that are sure to have you rooted and will enhance his performance at the same time While announcing his grand tour Rahman had said in a statement It has been an incredible journey over these last 25 years Sometimes when I ponder I get goosebumps because the Almighty has been kind in giving me happiness that has only multiplied year after year He began his career with Mani Ratnams 1992 film Roja Rahman is a recipient of many national and international awards and honours He is a Padma Bhushan winner the highest civilian award in India which was conferred on him in 2010 by the Government of India He has also received international recognition and acclaim in the form of two Academy Award wins as well as two Grammy awards AR Rahman won the Academy Award in the categories Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the movie Slumdog Millionaire and was also nominated in these same categories for the movie 127 Hours Interestingly both films were directed by Danny Boyle His two Grammy wins were also for the soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire in the categories Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture Television or Other Visual Media and Best Song Written for a Motion Picture Television or Other Visual Media
