Calcutta Club USA (www.calcuttaclubusa.com) is organizing Cuisinart 2019, a unique fusion of a South Asian live culinary contest on Sunday, April 28th at Maynard Elks Lodge in Maynard from 12 - 5 PM. Now in its fourth year, CuisinArt is New England’s only Indian live culinary contest that is uniquely presented within a collage of art and musical performance. Cuisinart synchronizes food and art to encourage creative non-professional cooks to prepare vintage South Asian delicacies within 30 minutes and impress discerning judges. In prior years, former Indian Consul General Riva Ganguly Das and famed culinary author Ms Chitrita Banerjee had been the chief guests at the event. Visitors can attend this event for free with prior registration online at http://www.calcuttaclubusa.com/cuisinart-19 We will also conduct the highly experimental artistic exercise Live Art, where selected artists paint a complete canvas to the accompaniment of a 30 minutes Indian music & dance session. These paintings are then auctioned to the audience for charity and the proceeds entirely donated to a selected organization. Last two years, the funds supported education for several students at the Prerna Girls School in Lucknow. Last year, there were more than 300 attendees at CuisinArt. Established in 2015, Calcutta Club USA is well recognized for presenting innovative public events such as the annual Sanskriti Literary Festival and the Caleidoscope Film Festival.
