Gathe Raho 2019

Come join us for our ELEVENTH annual Gathe Raho! Gathe Raho is a premier South Asian A Capella competition and well-established University of Iowa tradition, opening the floor for 7 collegiate a cappella teams from across the nation to compete for a total of $3250 in prize money. Gathe Raho 2019 will be held in the historic Englert Theatre, located downtown Iowa City. Gathe Raho performances feature medleys, blending traditional Indian songs from a wide array of exhilarating Bollywood music with English songs ranging classic to trending American pop. THE 2019 LINE-UP: Astha A Cappella Dhamakapella Husky Hungama Illini Awaaz Maize Mirchi Spartan Sur UMiami Tufaan + The University of Iowa's Iowa Agni (exhibition act) The Indian Student Alliance (ISA) will be hosting its 11th annual South Asian A’Cappella competition, Gathe Raho® on FEBRUARY 23RD, 2019! Seven teams will be chosen among a range of applicants to compete in the home of the Hawkeyes--Iowa City, Iowa. For the third year in a row, Gathe Raho has been selected as a bid-point competition for the All-American Awaaz Championship, a national competition where the teams will have the opportunity to compete for a grand prize and title of National Champion of South Asian A'Cappella.
