Our mission is to entertain audiences all around the US by performing traditional Indian Garba/Raas style of dance at a highly competitive level. We are dedicated to preserving the Indian culture through showcasing our unique and vibrant dance form. We hope to encourage diversity and spread awareness of our traditions by performing both on and off campus.

UConn ThundeRaas

The University of Connecticut UConn ThundeRaas is Connecticut's premiere garba/raas team. UConnThundeRaas is a dynamic, passionate, energetic raas team that brings a fresh face to the raas world. Khushbu Patel and Sneha Parikh, founded the dance team in 2009 to bring garba/raas to UConn and to take it to the highest level. The team strives to bring a new, modern edge to the stage while keeping to its traditional roots. On or off stage, UConn ThundeRaas will RAAS IT OUT

University of Maryland EntouRAAS

University of Maryland's premiere competitive garba/raas team consisted of 8 boys and 8 girls.

HooRaas Uva

HooRaas at the University of Virginia is a competitive co-ed dance team that seeks to promote the awareness of a particular type of Indian folk dance called garba-raas that is indigenous to the state of Gujarat. As a team of University of Virginia students, we perform at intercollegiate events and competitions. By performing at cultural events at the University of Virginia and at other venues, we contribute to the diversity of the university community. We aim to promote the understanding of South Asian, and specifically Gujarati, culture. Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not apart of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organizations contracts, acts or omissions.

UTD TaRaas

Established in August 2014, UTD TaRaas is UT Dallas' premier Raas/Garba competitive dance team. Since then, UTD TaRaas has competed all over the nation in the Raas All-Stars competitive circuit, as well as at other competitive platforms.

CMU Raasta
Dance
CMU Raasta strives to preserve Indian culture and promote diversity not only within the Carnegie Mellon campus but also throughout the Greater Pittsburgh community. CMU Raasta also competes in intercollegiate competitions held nationally throughout the course of the academic year. Through competitions, we bring recognition and prestige to Carnegie Mellon by projecting a respectable image of our university alongside some of the nation's premiere universities.

University of Houston's very own Garba/Raas Team, Roarin' Raas, was established in August 2011 by a remarkable group of passionate college students who wanted to share their Indian culture with others. With our pride in Indian heritage, we formed a Garba/Raas team that has traditional and modern aspects. 2011-2012 marks our year.
