Chankaar is Boston Universitys premiere South Asian all-girls fusion dance team. We are united by our passion for dance and strive to incorporate a wide variety of dance styles including hip-hop, bollywood, bharatanatyam, contemporary, kathak, bhangra and folk. As an all girls team we embody grace, creativity, and power.

Drexel Jhalak
Dance
Drexel Jhalak is Philadelphia's premier all-female Fusion Indian dance team! Jhalak fuses classical Indian dance along with various other styles of dance to perform award-winning routines.

JHU Zinda

Zinda is Baltimore's newest Bollywood Fusion Dance team that combines elements of both the Indian and American culture and brings them ALIVE on stage.

MIT Mirchi

Mirchi is MIT's premier co-ed Bollywood fusion dance team. Formed in 2012, Mirchi's collective spirit embodies community, culture, and a love for all forms of dance. Over the years, we've been honored to represent MIT and greater Boston at various competitions and showcases across the country. We've grown to be more than a dance team - we're a family united by our shared roots and passion for performing.

Founded in 2005, NYU Pandemonium is a premier, all-male Hip-Hop, Bhangra, and Bollywood fusion dance team. Our mission is to promote cultural diversity through art forms, hoping to connect the East and the West. A lot has changed since our founding, but one thing has stayed the same: our motto. No glitter, no make up... just dance.

The South Asian Performing Artists were founded in 2000 as the first and original co-ed dance troupe at Rutgers University by four energetic personalities; Jeanie Gulati, Vairagi Shah, Sagar Shah and Neal Patel.From these four individuals spawned a dance troupe like no other. In its first three years SAPA had been called on to perform at events such as the Bollywood Awards, Mr. India USA Pageant, and even a private performance for Madhuri Dixit! SAPA has also hosted two annual shows at Rutgers, more than tripling their audience size between each performance and has gained international exposure by placing 2nd at the SASA 2002 conference in Toronto.

UConn Surya is Connecticuts premier fusion dance team. We incorporate several different dance styles such as Bollywood, Bhangra, Classical, Raas, Lyrical, Hip Hop and much more! We provide a fun and challenging environment that encourages learning and perfecting skills together.We strive to blend western and eastern dance and music styles in order to create a routine that incorporates both our Asian heritage and western upbringing! We work towards getting competition-ready while making life-long friendships. This team is the perfect way to make new friends, relieve stress, and experience true teamwork.

Our pieces interweave South Asian and Western dance styles, breaking down the boundaries between existing forms of dance and showcasing the musical power of fusion. Bhangra, hiphop, garba/raas, lyrical, bharatanatyam, salsa, Bollywood, breakdancing you name the dance style, and we have someone working on tying it into our next performance.
