The establishment of Dhamaal, a non-profit intercollegiate South Asian dance competition, comes from the efforts of youth to bring awareness to the combination of Bollywood film dance and Western fusion dance. Dhamaal is excited to join the North American Bollywood Fusion Circuit and bring its first South Asian dance competition to the city of Detroit. This competition will be inviting university teams from all over the nation to perform against each other for the first place cash prize in front of an audience of over 1200 people.
There are over 130 competitions across the nation but Dhamaal would be Detroit’s first and only Bollywood-fusion.
