DJ Kazans versatility, spinning multiple genres of music such as Hip Hop, Commercial Dance & Pop, Trance, Deep House, Progressive, Electro, EDM and Bollywood shot him to the top as being one of Seattles premiere go to DJs.
Hailing from Mumbai India and living in Seattle USA his DJing career began in 1994 where he was a pioneer, being one of the first Indian DJs in all of North America and the first ever Indian DJ in Seattle. He is recognized for his contributions to the Seattle music scene, being one of the first Djs in the 90s to push genres like Hip Hop, Electronic music and Bollywood music to the masses when they were still relatively unknown and not mainstream.
Growing up in Mumbai he was influenced by the wave of 80s music and westernization that had infused the city. He moved to Seattle in the late 80s where he attended Quincy Joness alma matter and was introduced to a then brand new controversial genre of music called Hip Hop. It was here that he discovered turntables, breakdancing, rapping, singing and MC'ing.
In 1994 armed with 2 turntables and crates of vinyl records he had been collecting, DJ Kazan began spinning at local clubs.
In 1997 he was selected as a finalist from the millions who tried out for Indias first MTV VJ hunt along with now legendary Nikhil Chinnappa, Maria Goreti, Amrita Arora who were launched into stardom from the show.
After MTV, Kazan moved back to the US where he evolved his art of DJing. This time pushing the burgeoning Electronic music genre with music from artists like Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfeld, Paul Van Dyk.
Even though he played Bollywood in various clubs in the 90's, it wasnt until 2000s that he started a weekly Bollywood night at Trinity, Seattles Mega-club. Bollywood Paparazzi became one of the longest running Bollywood fusion nights in the country. It featuring multiple Bolly and mainstream artists, hosting celebrities and brought every kind of race rocking out in one massive venue.
