Sumithira Anand is the director of Kuchipudi Nrithyasadhana and has been teaching Kuchipudi in Massachussetts with a vision to help students understand the nuances of this age-old traditional art form, develop stage performance qualities, and impart the skills needed to carry on the guru-sishya tradition. Weekly classes are held in Ashland and in Westford. The curriculum is customized to serve as a bridge to the authentic kuchipudi tradition while addressing the needs of students in the United States. The School has a reputation for emphasizing the basics and theory behind this dance form. Students of this school graduate by performing their Rangapravesam after undergoing rigorous training.
