UT Nritya Sangam is a student-led, non-profit organization at the University of Texas at Austin committed to serving the community through sharing its passion for Indian Classical Dance and giving back through philanthropic events. Founded in 2002, the members of Nritya Sangam represent various schools, teachers, and styles of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi across the world. As an organization, Nritya Sangam (which means unity of dance) strives to preserve the age-old tradition of Indian Classical Dance, while allowing its members to continue cultivating the art-form they have learned since childhood. The ancient Indian dance styles that we perform are Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. We hope to expose the mainstream community to the richness and depth of an art little known in America through performances on the UT campus, as well as around Austin and other parts of the state. The members of Nritya Sangam serve as ambassadors of traditional Indian fine arts on campus since the troupe is the only Indian classical dance group at the university and is sponsored by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Nritya Sangam strives to make its community a better place. You can help us by officially recognizing and acknowledging the work that we do in the city of Austin and internationally. Your continued support affirms our drive to attain our goals. Please spread the word and help us publicize our cause and mission as we gain momentum as an organization.
