Vandy Taal was created early in January 2001 with the mission to produce A Cappella music incorporating various South Asian music with music of Western influence. This co-ed group of well-rounded college students continues to try and expand its horizons through performing as much as possible and in the most entertaining light as possible. The group has competed in esteemed competitions within the Desi A Cappella circuit such as Gathe Raho back in 2011. The group took a brief hiatus until 2016 and in April 2017, competed at Asha For Education's premier showcase, Steel City Sapna in Pittsburgh.
