  • Shoreline Amphitheatre is an outdoor amphitheater located in Mountain View, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The venue has a capacity of 22,500, with 6,500 reserved seats and 16,000 general admission on the lawn. When the parking lot is utilized for festival stages, the total capacity of the venue can reach 30,000. The amphitheatre was built in 1985-1986 by the city of Mountain View, in cooperation with local promoter Bill Graham, as part of the Shoreline Park project. Graham designed the amphitheatre to resemble The Grateful Dead's "steal your face" logo. Each row of fixed seating at the amphitheatre has a pitch of three feet, providing ample legroom and space for dancing.     There is no direct connection from San Francisco to Shoreline Amphitheatre. However, you can take the Caltrain to Mountain View Caltrain, take the walk to Mountain View Transit Center, take the bus to Shoreline at Charleston, then take the walk to Shoreline Amphitheatre. Alternatively, you can take a vehicle from San Francisco to Shoreline Amphitheatre via El Camino Real & Hillsdale Blvd, Hillsdale Caltrain, Mountain View Caltrain, Mountain View Transit Center, and Shoreline at Charleston in around 3 h 15 min.
    General Parking is included in the ticket price for most events at Shoreline Amphitheatre. When it is not included, there will be a fee per car. Premier Parking is available for purchase for most concerts, prices may vary. Your Premier Parking space will be in a paved lot closest to the Amphitheatre entrance. Your Premier Parking space is reserved in the Premier Parking Lot until show time. DIRECTIONS TO THE PREMIER PARKING LOT: From HWY 101, take Amphitheatre Pkwy (from the South) or Rengstorff Blvd (from the North) Exit. They first performed at Shoreline Amphitheater on October 2, 1987 and played a total of 39 concerts. Shows from October 3, 1987 and June 16, 1990 were recorded and later released as a live album, titled View from the Vault, Volume Three. They also broadcast their June 21, 1989 summer solstice show live on pay-per-view across America.

All busses will be boarded by our security staff to ensure no underage drinking is taking place on the bus. If there is any underage drinking- the whole bus will be turned around and no one will be able to enter the event. The venue will not issue refunds and bears no expense that will be incurred due to non-admittance. Mountain View Police Department will be on site assisting in the bus lot to ensure all guests on busses are acting appropriately and within accordance of the law. *Subject to change based on event. DROP OFFS AND PICKUPS Drop-off: From US 101, take Rengstorff/Amphitheatre Parkway exit and stay in right lane, At the Charleston/Garcia intersection, continue straight onto Amphitheatre Parkway. After the Google stoplight, traffic will be split into 2 lanes. Drop-off's should remain in the right lane. About 250 ft. before the Premier Parking entrance on your left, there will be a clearly marked drop-off area on your right. After your passengers have exited the vehicle drivers will then be asked to exit the area by continuing straight and making a right turn onto N Shoreline Blvd towards the US 101 and downtown Mountain View. Please listen to the traffic personnel they are there to help expedite the process. Please let the parking staff know that you are dropping someone off and they will direct you. Guests cannot remain in their vehicles during the event- they must drop off and return 45 minutes prior to the end of the show. If you are not back within 45 minutes of the end of the event- you will not be allowed to enter until the majority of cars have exited the parking lot. Local law enforcement will shut down all incoming traffic and only allow traffic out of the venue. Pick-up: The pick-up zone is the same as the drop-off zone. When leaving the Amphitheatre, you can reach the pick-up area by using the pedestrian path towards the right side when you exit the gates. Follow the signage along the walking path leading up to Amphitheatre Pkwy. Allow the staff to hold traffic so that you make cross over to waiting drivers.
