- Chalkaa is a coed Bollywood-Fusion dance team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that combines elements of East and West cultures. We aspire to not only spread our love of dance, but also to engage and entertain with our unique style of storytelling. Through passion, energy, and love, we aim to create a dance experience that will captivate audiences of all backgrounds.

University of Florida GatoRaas

- Founded in 2006, University of Floridas professional Garba/Raas dance team, GatoRaas has been Floridas premiere garba/raas team for the past 9 years. We compete locally and nationally every year, winning the Raas All Stars National Championship in 2010 and placing at other national competitions like Miami Mayhem. We always welcome support to join us at these events! We perform not only on the UF campus but also at private parties such as weddings, receptions, etc. in addition to our competitions. Our goal is to always entertain our audiences across the US by performing the Garba/Raas style of dance at a highly competitive level. We are dedicated to preserving the Indian culture through showcasing our unique and vibrant dance form. We hope to spread our culture and traditions as well as encourage our audiences to embrace and enjoy Garba/Raas with the same passion we do. Our team members dedicate vast amounts of time from their lives to be able to participate on this team. Being a full time college student while managing social lives and being on a team with such a large time commitment takes great dedication and pride in our art. Traveling to multiple competitions across the country carries a financial toll, on top of the costs of being a student. Michigan Izzat

- Michigan Izzat, founded in January of 2013, is the University of Michigan's premier all-male fusion dance team. As a nationally ranked collegiate team, we strive to promote dance and culture while staying true to our identity and university. Both on and off the stage, we affirm this mission through community service and performances for our campus community as well as the greater community across the nation. Using high energy choreography, innovative stunts, and our passion for dance, we come together fusing the styles of hip hop, bhangra and bollywood to produce a performance intended to inspire, to allure, and to celebrate Indian and American culture.

Tar Heel Raas

- The intended purpose of the Tar Heel Raas is to actively entertain the general public and raise cultural awareness of the traditional West Indian dances, Raas and Garba; we would also represent the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill at national intercollegiate dance competitions and performances. The vision of the group is to collaborate with other universities in order to increase the awareness of Raas and Garba throughout the nation and to create a unified presence of the Gujarati folk dance.

- Texas Nach Baliye was founded in 2008 by a group of students (led by the one and only Kovid Gupta!) who aimed to create a co-ed Bollywood team that would represent the University of Texas across nationwide dance competitions. We have evolved into a Fusion team whose dance styles include: Bollywood, Hip-Hop (Locking, New Style choreo,tutting), Bhangra, Contemporary, Classical, and as well as Fusion styles such as Bollywood-Hip-Hop.

- Founded in 2002, Raas Ruckus is UCSD's premier Garba/Raas Team. Competing in various cities such as Irvine, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Atlanta, we have been representing UCSD at national inter-collegiate level competitions. Our team members come from all over the country and we come together to keep the traditional dance styles of Garba and Raas alive with a little west coast swag!

SLU Shakti

- SLU Shakti is a Bollywood/Fusion dance team, combining the styles of Indian and American dance. It was formed by three passionate students in 2011. After just one year, Shakti was honored to be selected to compete amongst other prestigious teams across the United States. Since then, Shakti has competed in and placed at numerous competitions each year. Theyve traveled to places such as Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Chicago, and Cincinnati. Through hard work and determination they received the opportunity to compete with the best at Bollywood America 2014 in San Francisco. SLU Shakti continues to grow as a competitive team and looks forward to competing for years to come.
