Vandy Taal
- Music
- Vandy Taal was created early in January 2001 with the mission to produce A Cappella music incorporating various South Asian music with music of Western influence. This co-ed group of well-rounded college students continues to try and expand its horizons through performing as much as possible and in the most entertaining light as possible. The group has competed in esteemed competitions within the Desi A Cappella circuit such as Gathe Raho back in 2011. The group took a brief hiatus until 2016 and in April 2017, competed at Asha For Education's premier showcase, Steel City Sapna in Pittsburgh. This page provides an area for Vandy Taal to post concert dates, audition times, song recordings and any other forms of outreach necessary. Umiami Tufaan

- University of Miami has its very own Fusion A Capella group! The name, if you havent heard by now, is UMiami Tufaan.Initially, Tufaan was founded on Hindi-American music but has quickly evolved into a rich culturally diverse performance group incorporating people and types of music from around the world. We have competed on campus and at national competitions, our last one held in San Francisco, California! Recently, we competed at UMs own U Factor competition and took 1st place! We take our music very seriously but have lots of fun doing so.

UCSD Sitaare

- Sitaare is UCSDs premiere coed South Asian a cappella group. We focus on giving singers a platform to create and perform music without the aid of instruments.Since 2006 we have engaged in light-hearted vocal mischief and performed at numerous community events in the San Diego area as well as in the Bay. Our repertoire consists mainly of South Asian pop and film music, along with the occasional English R&B or pop piece.

Wayne Ki Awaaz

- Created in 2011, Wayne Ki Awaaz is Wayne States premiere South Asian fusion A Cappella team. Located in Detroit, MI, our family of Warriors has an intense passion for music and having the most fun possible. Wayne Ki Awaaz looks to create a fusion of both Eastern and Western music without instruments. We pay homage to our mother tongue with classical songs from the heart of the Indian subcontinent, while joining these with pieces weve grown up with in the States. Our goal is to create music that will inspire others by creating mixes from various genres to create a diverse musical outreach.

Dhamakapella

- Dhamakapella is an award-winning coed South Asian fusion a cappella group based in Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in the spring of 2005 by students Mayank Prasad, Raksha Soore, and Manoj Nair, Dhamakapellas music has been influenced from both Eastern and Western elements, and mixes contemporary Western songs with popular Eastern music. Within the last two years, Dhamakapella has placed and been ranked in three distinct competitions, and released its debut album, Pehli Nazar: First Look.Dhamakapella was formed in 2005 by student Mayank Prasad at Case Western Reserve University. With help from students, Raksha Soore and Manoj Nair, Mayank organized and established the first university-recognized coed a cappella group, which would feature genres from both Western and Eastern cultures.

UMD Anokha

- Anokha is UMD's very own South-Asian/American fusion a cappella Group! Since its inception in 2001, Anokha has gained recognition both on- and off-campus. Meaning "unique" in Sanskrit, Anokha strives to spread South Asian culture through its music. Anokha was founded in 2001 in the tradition of other South-Asian/American fusion a cappella groups like Penn Masala. In 2005, Anokha held its first Spring Show, which became an annual tradition where Anokha performs all of the new songs it learned that year. Anokha released its first single, Dheere Jalna/My Immortal, in 2011, and its first album, Unleashed, in 2014.
