Preethi Ramaprasad

- Preethi Ramaprasad, has been learning classical Indian Dance from Prof. Sudharani Raghupathy (Shree Bharatalaya, Chennai, India) for the last 20 years. Born and raised in the United States, she made annual visits to India to train in dance and teaching from her guru. After being a school teacher in New York City under a prestigious organization, Teach for America, from 2011-2012, Preethi is currently pursuing classical Indian Dance (known as Bharatanatyam) professionally.

Sooraj Subramaniam
- Dance
- Sooraj Subramaniam grew up in Malaysia, training in the Indian classical dance styles of Bharatanatyam and Odissi, and later on in classical ballet and contemporary dance forms. He continued classical ballet training in Australia and graduated from the Western Australian Academy for Performing Arts, at Edith Cowan University. Concurrently, he co-directed Mudhra Dance Company teaching and performing Indian classical and contemporary dance. Since moving to the United Kingdom Sooraj worked primarily with Srishti - Nina Rajarani Dance Creations, performing and teaching Bharatanatyam extensively. He has also performed with Akademi, Balbir Singh Dance Company and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance. Whilst in London, Sooraj also trained in Kathak, adding to his rich dance vocabulary. His own work is an organic amalgam of styles, and he aspires to create work that is honest and enjoyable. Sooraj now lives in Belgium, and continues to freelance, presenting solo work and collaborating with companies and independent choreographers on dance commissions across Europe.

Shruti Abhishek

- Shruti began her journey in Bharatanatyam under Guru Smt Rohini M Singhi in Mumbai, India. She gives credit to her teacher, Rohini for her very strong foundations. Shruti became a teacher at Bharatanjali Nrityalaya where she taught young kids and adults for almost nine years. She assisted her teacher for several of the institutions productions namely, Shri Haricharitram - stories of Krishna, Nritya Madhuri - Repertoire of Dance etc. Shruti has a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya- founded by Guru Kanak Rele in Mumbai between 2009-2013, where the systematic academic approach to dance was provided. She got special training in Nattuvangam and Abhinaya from Smt Ambika Vishwanathan and was fortunate to learn Karana-s and the aspects of Natyasastra from Smt Malati Agneeswaran. This was an institution of teachers with vast nurturing care of Indian Arts and she is indebted to each one of them for their contribution to her growth as a Dancer. After graduating, Shruti had the great opportunity to take classes from Guru Shri CV Chandrashekhar in Chennai. The strict traditional training with one of the greats in Bharatanatyam cemented her belief to serve and preserve this art form for years to come. Shruti started her training with Guru Shri Vaibhav Arekar in 2013 and was a core member in his dance company until 2017. Shruti has performed at several prestigious festivals in India and Europe with Sankhya Dance Company, namely at the NCPA, Modhera Dance Festival, NatyaDarshan Conference-Chennai, Indian Habitat Centre, Delhi, Festival India- Poland etc. Working in productions like Trayyanta, Nama Mhane, Shiva gave her the philosophical insight between spirituality, philosophy and dance. She continues her training with Vaibhav Sir ever so often. Shruti has also received theatre training from Mr Hemant Hazare, which has been a turning point in her approach in dance. Currently, Shruti is a core dancer at NavaDanceTheatre and also the Company Manager. Shruti is also working on her first production Ravana with SriThina Subramaniam and Preethi Ramaprasad, the premiere is set for March 2019. In addition to this, Shruti has recently co-founded SruDee a cross-country collaborative initiative with her colleague Ms Deepika Panchamukhi in Europe and have scheduled performances in 2019. Shruti also has a Degree in Arts from Jai- Hind college in Mumbai and has participated in several intercollegiate Dance Festivals representing her college.

Tanu Sreedharan

- Tanu joined Nava Dance Theatre in 2013. She was first introduced to Bharatanatyam by her gurus Sri K.P. & Smt. Katherine Kunhiraman, of Kalanjali: Dances of India. Tanusree performed her dance debut in 2011, and continues to dance in both Kalanjali and Nava productions. Most recently, she danced in Pushfest for Lalli Venkats production as well as West Wave for Sri Thina Subramaniams production The Affair.

Sukanya Burman

- Growing up in Kolkata, India, Sukanya started her dance training in Bharatnatyam, an Indian Classical Dance style at the early age of 3. She graduated with an advanced diploma from Kalamandalam Kolkata, a premier classical dance institute, under the supervision of Guru Thankamani Kutty. Being intrigued with bridging cultural and sociopolitical gaps through movement and dance, She underwent extensive training, earning a Diploma in Movement Arts and Contemporary Dance under Rhythmosaic Dance Company affiliated to OffJazz Dance Academy, Nice, France. She joined the Rhythmosaic Dance Company as a repertory member immediately after graduating and toured with them nationally and internationally. She was a part of their production Swan Lake re-visited which was premiered at The Royal Danish Ballet Theater in Copenhagen, Denmark. Soon after, she moved to New York City to pursue the Independent Program at Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance specializing in Graham technique. She graduated in 2014 and ever since has been performing and teaching independently in India and the US. Her recent performances included Women of Words showcased in Edinboro University and her choreographed modern dance piece Until the Dawn was performed in Chautauqua Institution in 2018. She has also been a part of the Arts Education initiative at the Chautauqua Institution for the summer of 2018, conducting a demonstration on Indian Classical Dance to the Chautauqua Institution Childrens School. She currently serves as a faculty and resident choreographer for the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet in Jamestown, NY and also work as an independent artist in the Chautauqua region.
